Discovered a very awesome little café on Wattletree Rd in East Malvern called Fergus that served up delicious food, beautiful orange juice and good coffee (sadly not tasted by I, though). Went with a lovely friend, Laura, and the sister, and enjoyed a late breakfast/early lunch, which I suppose is technically a brunch! Enjoyed it throughly! Highly recommend : )
Wondrous White Night
Melbourne celebrated its first White Night last Saturday night and it was nothing short of spectacular! Flinders Street was light up with magical displays, turning churches into steampunk factories, forums into technicolour fantasies and train stations into electric storms. There were light shows on the river, one man bands and hidden ghosts. The photos below are only but a taster for what was an incredible night and I cannot wait until next years!
Chinese New Year!
For the first time, I celebrated Chinese New Year by visiting the centre of Melbourne for dumplings and ice cream with gorgeous high school friends. We even managed to see firecrackers going off and dragons! Rachel had never seen firecrackers in all her years of CNY because of growing up in Singapore so that was really cool to share that with her. We then wandered around the CBD, taking in the quirkiness of Melbourne (beautiful street art, lights used as art work and twig houses). Love this city!
Summer Times
The Victoria Markets put on magnificent Summer night markets every Wednesday night in December, January and February and I was lucky enough to be asked to be the official photographer for one of those Wednesdays! What follows is my photographic exploration of the market and its beautiful characters.
Why did the Monkey put a chop on his head?
Because he thought he was a Griller! Enjoyed a lovely Valentines Day at the Zoo today with the gorgeous boy. The elephants were easily the standout of the day – got to see the baby elephant (calf!) enjoying the sunshine! The meerkats were another highlight, as usual. The day was topped off by delicious homemade risotto by Kit and tasty moscato. Easily the best Valentines Day I’ve ever had!
