NaPhoPoMo: National Photo Posting Month

November 4, 2013

IMG_2703

This month, I’ve decided to participate in the inaugural month of NaPhoPoMo! You may have heard of NaNoWriMo – the writing version – but Karen over at chookooloonks has starter her own Photography version this year and I can’t wait! As always, I post a photo a day over on Instagram, as @mandajanex. But I will be posting on here photos I take every day from my camera. I always wanted to do a 365 challenge with my DSLR but some days its hard to bring it, so I went with a phoneography 365 on Instagram. So making my self do a 30 day challenge with my camera is perfect! Hope you enjoy my November!

Last Friday, November 1, I took my gorgeous dogs for a walk to my favourite park. They had been a bit lonely for the last few days so it was perfect afternoon for all of us.

Royal Melbourne Show

October 7, 2013

Royal Sow | AJS 7

Last weekend, I went along to the Royal Melbourne Show with two of my closest friends from school, Courtney and Lai-Ling. I hadn’t been to The Show since I was about 4 or 5, which means that I barely remember it. Hence, this was the first time I’ve ever been! It was a lot of fun. We got there nice and early, which was an excellent idea, and left when the crowds got crazy. The crowds were so crazy in the afternoon the line to get into the Showbag Pavillion was probably 300 people long!

We enjoyed wandering around looking at gorgeous dogs, lambs, goat kids, Masterchef kitchens, horses, finding couches and tvs converted into pot plants, eating Dippin Dots, buying showbags, and winning toys.

Garden AJS 6

So I tried to do 10 on 10 this month but forgot to bring my camera with me! So I did 11 on 11 since 11 is my favourite number and then got carried away with my garden! I’m lucky to live with this beautiful garden in my backyard and to have two beautiful dogs to play in it with.

August 2013

September 3, 2013

august2013blogIt is finally spring here in Melbourne which means that August is over. The last month of winter didn’t feel like that to me, given that it started off in Bangkok and ended with mid 20s weather in Melbourne. However, that very first night back from Bangkok, I did go to Soccer training and it was raining and 7.5 degrees! This month’s highlights are Bangkok to start with of course, but the month also included the launch of the sixth issue of the magazine I’m involved with, in Brief, with my image on the front cover, delicious food as usual, planting flowers, saying goodbye to Emma for 5 months as she goes on exchange in Denmark, and hanging out with my dogs. The best part of the month, though, was the Melbourne Writers Festival. It ended on Sunday, so September 1st so next month’s calendar will have the last little bit of it, but the end of this month was entirely shaped by the festival. I was at the festival every day of the 11 days (my favourite number!) save one because I fell ill from being so exhausted! It was an incredible experience. There were over 300 events in the festival and even though I was there almost every day, I only went to 50 of them! And that felt like a lot! It was a great organisation to be part of and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

So that was August 2013! Now onto September!

The Month of June

June 30, 2013

juneThe month of June was full of shorter days but filled with Birthday things! I collected books, bought a Polaroid and camera phone lenses, made the best red velvet cupcakes, was given minion cupcakes, explored my beautiful city, and woke up to frosty windows.

I used to keep a diary and had about 5 between the ages of 10-19 but now, my daily photos under #365manda are my visual diary and I love looking for the little highlights in my day and capturing them. If you shared any of my June memories with me, thank you for being apart of my favourite month!

AJS Photography Dogs 3

As its quickly turning into winter, there is nothing lovelier than curling up with my furry friends. The brown one is Elle, the 3 year old Cavoodle and the black and white one is Harry, the 9 year old Chin-a-poo. Basically, they are both half poodles! Harry is the American and Elle the cheeky Aussie. She even let me put my dress on her the other day!

Do you have any furry friends?
