This summer, I was lucky enough to see the sea every weekend. For me, and I’ve mentioned this before on this blog, feeling the sand between my toes and hearing the waves calms me down. So in my ode to the Summer of 2014, I present my beach stills, some shared before, and some new memories.
NaPhoPoMo
I did it! A month of photos on my DSLR! I really enjoyed the process of bringing my camera along for my daily photos, which I already do on my phone. But this month, I really tried to branch out and have different photos for both mediums. Such as, one day it was a chicken on my camera while it was scones on the phone. Meant I had to look for two bright sparks in a sometimes boring day (: Below are the rest of the days of the month that haven’t been posted and I’ll post the highlights shortly! This month included a trip to Perth and a short visit to New Zealand for a wedding, so while it was often a month filled with loooong work days, it was nicely bookended by those little trips, which do so much for rejuvenating my soul <3
Day 14: Another loooong work day, punctured by a little walk around the neighbourhood
Day 15: Otto looking like how we all feel at the end of a Friday at the end of a long week!
Day 16: Book Club! Last one for the year and having to say some goodbyes is always really sad (Bye Maddy!)
Day 17: Doctor Who Pop-Up Shop was an absolute dream for the fandom girl in me!
Day 18: Night Noodle Markets with some of my favourite people!
Day 19: Yarn Bombing!
Day 20: Jam Factory has a ballin’ ceiling!
Day 21: We all need a little love in our daily lives.
Day 22: It was my gorgeous boy’s 10th birthday! Doesn’t look a day over puppy, do you Harry? 😀
Day 23: Got my childhood on at Luna Park – actually went on a roller coaster!
Day 24: Did the Colour Run. Nough said (:
Day 25: After a rainy weekend, even though I saw stuck inside, god I was happy to see some blue sky on my lunch break! (Don’t let that blue sky two pictures ago fool you, 10 minutes after that photo the heavens opened up!)
Day 26: Had the pleasure of attending Blogger Bingo (:
Day 27: 2013 has been an AMAZING year for me and that is especially because I met this incredibly special lady. We are the Time Turner Twins, it’s nice to meet you (:
Day 28: Stuck at the airport with my plane delayed, Pikachu was great company.
Day 29: In Auckland, I had the best pancakes I have had in a long time!
Day 30: I went to a wedding in Hobbiton – it was so jaw droppingly beautiful and I loved every minute of it (:
NaPhoPoMo: National Photo Posting Month
This month, I’ve decided to participate in the inaugural month of NaPhoPoMo! You may have heard of NaNoWriMo – the writing version – but Karen over at chookooloonks has starter her own Photography version this year and I can’t wait! As always, I post a photo a day over on Instagram, as @mandajanex. But I will be posting on here photos I take every day from my camera. I always wanted to do a 365 challenge with my DSLR but some days its hard to bring it, so I went with a phoneography 365 on Instagram. So making my self do a 30 day challenge with my camera is perfect! Hope you enjoy my November!
Last Friday, November 1, I took my gorgeous dogs for a walk to my favourite park. They had been a bit lonely for the last few days so it was perfect afternoon for all of us.
A lazy Saturday afternoon
Some on 11
So I tried to do 10 on 10 this month but forgot to bring my camera with me! So I did 11 on 11 since 11 is my favourite number and then got carried away with my garden! I’m lucky to live with this beautiful garden in my backyard and to have two beautiful dogs to play in it with.
